Financial Controller

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. Responsibilities

• Oversee the entire accounting cycle, including general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll processing.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other relevant regulations.
• Lead the preparation of accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, along with regulatory reporting requirements.
• Manage cash flow through effective treasury management, cash management strategies, and forecasting to optimize liquidity.
• Supervise and develop the finance team, managing accounting staff responsible for accounts reconciliation, cost analysis, and financial data entry.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis to support budgeting, cost accounting analysis, and strategic decision-making initiatives.
• Implement and maintain robust accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar software to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy.
• Ensure rigorous internal controls are in place by managing SOX compliance procedures and conducting regular audits.
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits and ensure timely completion of all regulatory compliance accounting tasks.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes through spreadsheet automation, Excel data analysis techniques, and technical accounting updates.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, governmental accounting principles, and non-profit accounting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent platforms; strong spreadsheet skills for data analysis.
• Deep understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, debits & credits, and balance sheet management.
• Experience managing accounting teams with a focus on leadership development and team productivity enhancement.
• Expertise in financial report writing and presenting complex financial information clearly to stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets using Excel or similar tools for forecasting and budget analysis.
• Knowledge of international accounting standards and regulatory frameworks applicable across diverse sectors including public sector or non-profit organizations.
• Ability to ensure regulatory compliance in all aspects of financial management while maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.

Pay: $95,100.00 - $115,000.00 per year
