Financial Controller

I am recruiting a Financial Controller for a property developer within central London. This is a high impact role, heavy within controllership duties and enhancing processes, managing a team of 1.

4 days in office, 1 day wfh.

Financial Reporting, Treasury, Controls & Compliance

• Line management, review and development of a newly qualified accountant
• Oversight and proactive management of the P&L and balance sheets for all entities
• Ensure commercial strategies are understood and the financial position of the entities reflects these strategies
• Ensure the commercial consequences of financial reporting standards are fully understood at a senior level
• Ensure compliance with relevant UK GAAP / IFRS and internal governance frameworks
• Support the tax team in tax compliance for all entities, with a key focus on VAT and CIS.
• Responsible for the external audit process, ensuring appropriate consultation on key issues with senior stakeholders
• Ownership of funding drawdown materials, including debt and grant funding
• Day-to-day ownership of the treasury function and project cash-flow requirements
• Manage the financial implications of transactions, including fund flows and cost reimbursements
• Support the Estate Management team and managing agent on the financial operations of the estate management company
• Work closely with the Commercial Controller to ensure the financial ledgers and chart of accounts structure reflect commercial and budgeting requirements
• Ensure all amounts due (for example internal project recharges, fees, external bonds) to the entities are tracked appropriately and recovered on a timely basis
• Support the Senior Financial Controller in maintaining a robust and effective control environment across all Finance processes and projects, reducing risk and ensuring Finance supports the wider business effectively

Shared Services Lead (financial control)

• Key point of contact for outsourced service provider
• Monitor and report on the service provider's performance against the Services Agreement, including all KPIs and SLAs
• Working with senior finance colleagues and the service provider, identify and implement further system improvements and efficiencies, including through innovation and technology

Fund Management lead

• Lead from a financial reporting perspective and provide oversight of the allocation of returns, profits and distributions
• Review and development of the Accountant
• Lead finance contact for investors
• Provide transaction support for asset acquisitions and disposals
• Responsible for lender reporting and debt covenant compliance
