Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: London (Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office)

Eton Bridge Partners is partnering with an independent membership organisation to appoint a Financial Controller .

Created following the carve-out of a well-established international membership business, the organisation is entering an exciting phase as an independent entity, with a mission focused on improving workers' lives across global supply chains.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is an opportunity to join at an early stage and play a key role in building a modern, scalable finance function. Acting as the clear number two within finance, the successful candidate will combine financial control responsibilities with process improvement, systems development and finance transformation.

This is a broad, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys building and improving rather than simply maintaining established structures. The organisation is open to candidates seeking either a full-time role or a four-day working week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day finance operations alongside outsourced service providers.
• Own the month-end, year-end, audit and statutory reporting processes.
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisers and other external specialists.
• Develop and enhance financial controls, policies and governance frameworks.
• Design and implement scalable finance processes to support future growth.
• Drive automation, process improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and longer-term business planning activities.
• Produce financial reporting and analysis for the CFO, Board and senior stakeholders.
• Help shape finance systems, reporting capabilities and data structures.
• Partner closely with senior stakeholders on strategic and operational initiatives.

Candidate Profile:

• ACA or equivalent qualified accountant.
• Strong financial control, audit, statutory reporting and technical accounting experience.
• Experience gained within SMEs, scale-ups, entrepreneurial businesses or high-growth organisations.
• Demonstrable experience building, scaling or significantly improving finance processes and controls.
• Experience implementing or enhancing finance systems, reporting tools or automation initiatives.
• Interested in how technology, data and AI can improve finance operations and decision-making.
• Comfortable working in evolving environments with ambiguity and change.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands-on, proactive and commercially minded with a genuine builder mentality.
