Financial Controller - Pattaya

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee financial management, accounting operations, reporting, budgeting, and internal controls for Mountain Beach Resort Pattaya and Slumber Koh Chang. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial governance, effective cash flow management, and compliance with applicable accounting and tax requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the General Managers and operational teams at both properties to improve profitability, manage operating costs, strengthen revenue controls, and support commercial decision-making. We are looking for a hands-on finance professional with a strong understanding of hotel, resort, hostel, and F&B operations who can balance technical accounting expertise with practical operational finance management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial control for both properties
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, P&L reports, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and management reports
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Analyze financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods
• Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting in collaboration with General Managers and Department Heads
• Monitor revenue, operating expenses, payroll, departmental costs, and profitability
• Oversee daily revenue reconciliation across accommodation, F&B, bars, events, and other revenue-generating departments
• Monitor food and beverage costs, labor expenses, purchasing, inventory, and operating expenditure
• Monitor daily cash positions, bank balances, receivables, payables, and cash flow requirements
• Establish and maintain financial policies, approval procedures, and internal control standards across both properties

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 5–8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within hotels, resorts, hostels, or other hospitality businesses
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Hotel Financial Controller, Assistant Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or Chief Accountant with strong financial control responsibilities
• Experience managing property-level financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, cash flow, and internal controls
• Strong knowledge of P&L analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, income audit, revenue control, and month-end closing
• Working knowledge of Thai tax requirements, including VAT, withholding tax, and corporate income tax
• Experience with hospitality accounting systems, PMS, POS, and ERP/accounting software
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Willingness to travel between Pattaya and Koh Chang as business requirements dictate
