Why work for REACH?
At REACH, things are different from your average job. We all say it takes a while to get used to such a warm, local organisation where people genuinely care about one another and the communities we serve. We really do work together closely as one team - most of us working all together in one office! - supporting each other every day and sharing the same goal; helping people and creating stronger communities.
We’re small enough that your ideas really do matter to us, and will be heard; we’re always open to trying new approaches and finding better ways of doing things. We believe a positive workplace culture matters, and we are committed to creating an environment where staff feel valued, supported, and able to thrive both personally and professionally.
What we offer:
- 25 days of leave a year, pro rata
- An additional working week’s worth of holiday at Christmas, alongside bank holidays, giving staff valuable time to spend with loved ones
- A supportive and welcoming office environment where teamwork and collaboration are part of everyday life
- A shared sense of purpose and meaningful work that makes a real difference in local communities
- Investment in your learning and ongoing development
- Flexibility and understanding in a way that larger organisations often cannot offer
- Access to external wellbeing support services for staff
- A workplace pension scheme
- A caring culture that recognises the importance of family, wellbeing, and work-life balance
About the Role
About The Role
REACH has provided support to local people in crisis since 2005. As well as providing a debt counselling, financial inclusion and advice service, we also provide financial education in schools, to youth groups and other organisations. We are looking for an Educator to join our Community Engagement Team. This role is about teaching young people financial literacy as well as teaching adults about budget management. The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic about teaching young people and adults financial literacy as well as have strong people skills, an ability to build relationships and manage effective partnerships with external organisations.
This is a part time role working 30 hours a week, although some flexibility will be required dependent on service need. There may also be some occasional evening work and weekend work required, dependent on the needs of the young people and adults. Full training will be provided but strong IT skills are a prerequisite to the role.
As we work with children and young people, an offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and DBS clearance.
Please note that this is currently a fixed term contract for 1 year – extension of the contract is dependent on future funding, which has not yet been guaranteed.
