We are looking for a capable, analytical and detail-oriented individual to join our financial planning practice as a Financial Planning Analyst.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid accounting background who is looking to build a career in financial planning and wealth management. Full training will be provided on financial planning, products, systems and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will support our advisers in delivering high-quality financial planning services to clients, helping to prepare financial information, undertake research and ensure a first-class client experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Financial Advisers with client meetings and ongoing service reviews.
- Gathering and analysing clients' financial information.
- Preparing reports, illustrations and client documentation.
- Liaising with clients, product providers and professional contacts.
- Maintaining accurate client records and documentation.
- Assisting with cashflow planning and financial analysis.
- Supporting the implementation of financial planning recommendations.
- Ensuring records and processes meet regulatory and compliance standards.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in accountancy, bookkeeping, audit, tax management accounts or a similar facing role.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and financial principles.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Desirable
- AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or similar qualification (or studying towards one)
- Experience in an accountancy practice environment.
- An interest in personal finance, investments and wealth management.
About You
This role may particularly suit someone currently working in accountancy who is looking for a more varied, client-focused career and wishes to develop expertise in financial planning and wealth management.
We are specifically seeking candidates with a strong accounting or finance background rather than previous experience in financial services. We believe that a solid grounding in accounting provides an excellent foundation for developing the technical and analytical skills required in financial planning.
Benefits
- Competitive salary
- 28 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Study support for professional qualifications
- Professional membership fees paid
- Clear career progression opportunities within financial planning.
How to Apply
Please send your CV together with a brief covering letter explaining your relevant accounting or finance experience and why you are interested in a career in financial planning.
