Financial Reporting Contractor

We are recruiting for an experienced Financial Reporting Contractor to join an established global financial services business, supporting the delivery of year-end statutory reporting and external audits.

This is a hands-on role requiring a technically strong, qualified accountant who can independently manage the preparation of statutory financial statements, group consolidations and the year-end audit process.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of year-end statutory accounts for the consolidated group and multiple UK entities
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, including consolidation adjustments and supporting workpapers
• Ensure financial statements and disclosures comply with UK GAAP, particularly FRS 102
• Manage the year-end external audit process, acting as the main point of contact for auditors and resolving queries
• Prepare and review audit schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation
• Research technical accounting matters, reviewing accounting policies and preparing technical papers where required
• Partner with Finance, Tax, Legal and other stakeholders to ensure reporting deadlines are met.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, controls and efficiencies

Experience required:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong hands-on experience preparing statutory financial statements and managing year-end audits
• Excellent technical knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102
• Experience preparing consolidated group accounts and working across multiple entities
• Strong technical accounting and financial statement disclosure experience
• Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines and deliver with minimal supervision
• Previous experience within financial services, asset management or a regulated environment would be advantageous
• Big 4 or Top 10 audit backgrounds will also be considered, provided candidates have strong hands-on financial statement preparation experience
