Financial Reporting Manager

Pugh Executive Search is engaged in a search for a Financial Reporting Manager to lead financial reporting, month‑end close, and multi‑entity accounting operations for a stable, growing, PE-backed organization with offices in both Southlake and Benbrook.

This role is ideal for a CPA with a strong foundation in public accounting and hands‑on experience in corporate accounting , especially within project‑based or construction environments.

You will serve as a key accounting leader responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and explainable financial results , strengthening internal controls, and supporting system improvements and organizational growth.

Responsibilities:

Financial Leadership & Reporting

You’ll guide the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results, ensuring information is complete, consistent, and delivered on schedule. This includes reviewing key accounting activity, monitoring trends, and helping leadership understand what’s driving performance.

Operational Accounting Oversight

You’ll support the accounting activity that keeps the business moving—maintaining schedules, reviewing reconciliations, monitoring project‑related financial activity, and ensuring the organization’s financial records remain accurate and well‑supported.

Multi‑Entity Coordination

You’ll help bring together financial information from multiple divisions or entities, ensuring reporting is aligned, intercompany activity is handled correctly, and consolidated results reflect the full picture.

Compliance & External Support

You’ll assist with tax‑related requirements across several states, support documentation for audits, and help maintain the controls and processes that protect the organization’s financial integrity.

Systems & Process Improvement

You’ll contribute to system enhancements or ERP transitions, help validate financial data during migrations, and support reporting improvements using tools such as SQL, Excel, and ERP‑based reporting features.

Team Development & Collaboration

You’ll mentor accounting staff, set expectations, review work, and build cross‑functional relationships with FP&A, operations, tax, treasury, and other business partners. You’ll also support special projects, integrations, and organizational initiatives as the company grows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / CPA required or strongly preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within U.S.–based companies
• Background in public accounting plus corporate accounting strongly preferred
• Experience in multi‑entity or multi‑division environments
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting fundamentals
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with major ERP systems
• Experience leading or supervising accounting staff
• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize effectively, and communicate clearly
