What they need
Financial Reporting Manager
Cambridge | Hybrid working | £60,000–£63,000
A global technology business is looking for a Financial Reporting Manager to lead a team of up to 10 finance professionals in its Cambridge office.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys keeping reporting accurate and on time, developing people, and improving the way finance operations work. You’ll oversee core general ledger and period-end activities, while working closely with finance colleagues and stakeholders across the business.
The role
You’ll lead the team responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and delivering reliable reporting across a range of entities. You’ll set objectives, support performance and development, and help the team adapt its workload to meet business needs.
Alongside the people leadership, you’ll maintain oversight of the reporting cycle and financial controls, including:
- General ledger transactions, journals and fixed assets
- Account and subledger reconciliations
- Period-end close, including accruals and revenue recognition
- Financial, regulatory and tax information
- Service levels, KPIs and agreed reporting deadlines
You’ll build relationships with regional finance teams and other stakeholders, resolve issues, and use feedback to improve service. You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement, helping standardise and document processes, strengthen controls and make the team’s work more efficient.
About you
You’ll bring experience leading a finance team and a strong understanding of financial reporting or accounting operations. You’re comfortable switching between detailed review and broader team management, and you know how to maintain control while supporting a responsive service.
You’ll also have:
- Strong communication and people-management skills
- Good knowledge of finance systems and accounting processes
- Experience with month-end close, general ledger activity and reconciliations
- A sound understanding of financial controls and operational risk
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
This is an excellent opportunity to join a globally recognised technology business with great exposure to the rest of the group, offering hybrid working and amazing benefits.
