Description

Who are we?

The Financial Risk Group (FRG) is a global consulting firm headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, with its APAC office in Kuala Lumpur. We specialize in financial risk management and regulatory technology. We partner with banks and insurers to design, build, and implement risk, finance, and regulatory platforms using advanced analytics, SAS technologies, and modern open-source tools.

Our consultants work at the intersection of business strategy, quantitative analysis, and technology. Our teams support initiatives across credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk, IFRS 9, Basel III, stress testing, capital management, and regulatory reporting for clients in Malaysia, the wider APAC region, North America, and Europe.

We are known for deep technical expertise, a hands-on delivery model, and a track record of developing early-career talent into trusted risk and technology professionals.

Why join us?

You will fast-track your career in financial risk consulting while gaining hands-on experience with industry-leading tools and methodologies. We invest in training, mentorship, and professional certifications, and provide a structured path from new graduate to client-facing consultant.

You will work alongside experienced consultants on live projects for regional banks, receive direct feedback, and develop technical and professional skills that transfer across the financial services industry.

What is the NEET Training Program?

The New Employee Excellence Training (NEET) Program is a full-time, paid training program for recent graduates and early-career professionals entering financial risk and technology consulting. The structured first phase runs about 13 weeks and covers:

  • Linux, Git, and FRG coding standards
  • A first ticket on a live internal project and a presentation to the office
  • Introductory sessions from senior consultants on FRG, financial risk management, SAS software, project management, and quality assurance

After the structured phase you join a project team as an Assistant Consultant and continue learning on the job.

In this role you will:

  • Develop proficiency in SAS, SQL, Python, and related tools
  • Obtain professional certifications in technology and risk management, paid for by FRG
  • Learn core financial risk management concepts and regulatory frameworks (IFRS 9, Basel III, stress testing)
  • Understand risk platform architecture and how to optimize risk analytic processes
  • Apply best-practice coding standards, unit testing, debugging, and quality assurance
  • Gain exposure to the software development life cycle and project management methodologies
  • Work with senior consultants on client projects across Malaysia and the region

Benefits

  • Fixed monthly salary, with a step-up on confirmation after the six-month probation
  • Certification bonuses for passing SAS Base, SAS Advanced, and FRR; all training materials, registrations, and exam fees paid by FRG
  • Company medical plan with AIA (inpatient and outpatient), plus dental and vision allowance
  • 12 days annual leave as a NEET Trainee, 15 days on promotion to Assistant Consultant, 14 days sick leave
  • Employee referral bonus, regular office events, and lunch-and-learns
