What they need
Financial Services Representative, Remote Position Overview
We are looking for individuals interested in developing a career in the financial services industry while working directly with individuals and families.
This is an independent-contractor, commission-based opportunity with schedule flexibility. Previous financial-services experience is not required. Candidates who move forward will receive training, mentorship, and guidance through the applicable licensing process before performing activities that require a license.
The role is a good fit for someone who communicates well, is comfortable meeting with people, can work independently, and is willing to learn a regulated financial-services business.
Responsibilities
As you complete the required training and licensing process, responsibilities may include:
- Meeting with individuals and families, primarily through virtual appointments
- Learning about clients' financial goals, priorities, and concerns
- Providing financial education and helping clients understand available strategies
- Assisting appropriately qualified clients with financial products and services for which you are properly licensed and authorized
- Developing and maintaining professional client relationships
- Following up with clients and prospective clients
- Building a client base through prospecting and referrals
- Participating in training, team meetings, and continuing professional development
- Following applicable company procedures and regulatory requirements
Training and Licensing
Financial-services experience is not required to be considered.
Training and mentorship are provided to help candidates learn the business and prepare for applicable licensing requirements. Certain financial products and activities require the appropriate state and/or federal licenses before a representative may conduct those activities.
Licensing requirements and the process for becoming properly licensed will be explained during the interview and onboarding process.
Qualifications
Candidates should:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Be able to satisfy applicable background and licensing requirements
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Be comfortable speaking with individuals and families
- Have reliable internet access and the ability to participate in virtual meetings
- Be willing to complete training and applicable licensing requirements
- Be self-directed, dependable, and comfortable working in a performance-based environment
Previous experience in sales, customer service, financial services, education, coaching, leadership, or other client-facing roles can be helpful but is not required.
Schedule and Work Environment
This opportunity is primarily remote and provides flexibility in scheduling client appointments, training, and business-development activities.
Both part-time and full-time participation may be considered. Availability during some evenings or other times convenient for clients may be beneficial.
Compensation
This is an independent-contractor opportunity and is not a salaried or hourly position.
Compensation is performance-based and primarily derived from commissions associated with eligible financial products and services. Additional bonuses or incentives may be available when applicable. Earnings vary based on individual production and are not guaranteed.
Additional details regarding compensation, licensing, training, and the independent-contractor relationship will be discussed during the interview process.
Who May Be a Good Fit
We are particularly interested in people who enjoy helping others, communicate effectively, are willing to learn, and want to develop professional skills within the financial-services industry.
