About the role

We are seeking a Financial Supervisor to join our accounting team on a full-time basis in Kowloon. This is a crucial position within our finance department, responsible for overseeing financial accounting and reporting functions. The Financial Supervisor will play a strategic role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial records whilst maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. You will supervise team members, manage accounting operations, and provide reliable financial information to support management decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily accounting operations of the finance team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions and reconciliation of accounts
• Oversee the maintenance of accounting records and ensure proper documentation and filing procedures are followed
• Monitor and analyse financial data to identify discrepancies, errors, or irregularities and implement corrective actions
• Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment authorisation
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and analysis for management and external stakeholders
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
• Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities regarding financial matters and compliance issues
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant legislation

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from a recognised institution
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, HKICPA, or equivalent is highly desirable
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership capacity
• Strong proficiency in financial accounting, reporting, and reconciliation procedures
• Solid knowledge of accounting standards and practices applicable to Hong Kong
• Advanced proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; experience with SAP, QuickBooks, or similar platforms is advantageous
• Excellent command of English and Chinese (written and spoken); Cantonese is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop accounting team members
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
• Knowledge of import/export accounting and trading company operations would be beneficial
