Fine Art Technician

About the Role:

We are seeking a dependable, physically fit and detail-oriented Art Handler to join our team on a part-time, on-call basis. You'll support exhibitions, client installations, and daily gallery operations with schedules that vary by project and deadline. This position requires experience in safely handling, installing, packing, and transporting high-value artwork for both gallery and private client settings. Ideal candidates are punctual, organized, physically capable, and experienced in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle and transport fine artwork with extreme care
• Install and deinstall artwork in gallery spaces and private residences
• Load and unload trucks using proper equipment and safe lifting techniques
• Assist with shipping, receiving, and condition checks of artwork and crates
• Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety in storage and handling areas
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet tight deadlines
• Represent the gallery professionally when interacting with clients

What We're Looking For:

• Ability to lift [50] lbs and to stand, bend, climb ladders, and carry for extended periods
• Careful, detail-oriented, and calm under deadline pressure
• Flexible and available for on-call shifts, including some early mornings, evenings or weekends
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
• Professional, polished presence with clients and collectors
• Experience in art handling, gallery work, moving, or fine art installation is a plus, but not required

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
