Job Summary

As a Edgewater Steakhouse Host, you will be the welcoming face of our upscale restaurant, creating an exceptional first impression for every guest. Your energetic and polished demeanor will set the tone for a memorable dining experience, ensuring guests feel valued and comfortable from the moment they arrive. You will expertly manage reservations, coordinate seating arrangements, and maintain smooth flow within the dining area. Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival, providing friendly and professional customer service
• Manage restaurant reservations using advanced reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Coordinate seating arrangements efficiently to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction
• Answer incoming phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, assisting with reservation inquiries and guest requests
• Maintain accurate waitlists and communicate wait times clearly to guests
• Support the host team in managing restaurant flow during busy periods, ensuring smooth guest transitions
• Uphold food safety standards by adhering to proper guest interaction protocols and cleanliness practices

Requirements

• Previous experience as a host or hostess in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment
• Strong knowledge of restaurant reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service and guest relations
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and organization skills
• Basic math skills for managing reservations, waitlists, and seating calculations
• Experience with food service operations and understanding of restaurant table management systems
• Professional phone communication skills and proper phone etiquette
• Knowledge of food safety procedures and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
