• Finneran Inc. builds and installs custom cabinetry and architectural millwork for luxury custom homes throughout Orange County. Our work includes full-home finish packages, detailed wall paneling, and custom ceilings, built to exacting standards for discerning clients, architects, and designers.

The Role

• We're looking for an experienced Finish Carpenter who can deliver flawless interior finish work in luxury homes. You'll handle everything from doors and hardware to paneled walls and detailed ceilings, where tight joints, clean lines, and consistent reveals are the standard.

Responsibilities

Wall Paneling

• Install raised, flat, and applied-molding panels, wainscoting, board-and-batten, and full-height paneled rooms
• Lay out panel spacing to keep proportions balanced and aligned with openings, outlets, and adjacent millwork
• Scribe paneling to uneven walls, floors, and ceilings

Doors & Hardware

• Hang pre-hung and slab interior doors, including tall, solid-core, and double doors
• Install pocket, barn, and bi-fold doors
• Mortise and install hinges, locksets, deadbolts, flush bolts, and specialty hardware
• Adjust doors for consistent reveals, smooth operation, and proper latching

Base & Crown

• Install base, shoe, casing, chair rail, and multi-piece built-up crown
• Cope, miter, and scarf joints for tight, invisible seams
• Work around out-of-square corners and uneven surfaces cleanly

Ceilings

• Install coffered, beamed, tray, and tongue-and-groove wood ceilings
• Lay out ceiling grids and beams square to the room and centered on fixtures and features
• Install ceiling trim and integrate lighting cutouts with other trades

Requirements

• 5+ years of finish carpentry experience, with at least some on high-end residential work
• Proven skill in coping, scribing, and precise layout
• Strong ability to read architectural drawings and millwork details
• Portfolio or photos of recent finish work
• Own hand and power tools
• Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
• Able to lift 75+ lbs and work on ladders and scaffolding
• Clean, professional appearance and conduct around homeowners

Preferred

• Stain-grade finish experience in hardwoods such as walnut, white oak, and rift oak
• Experience with custom coffered or beamed ceiling systems
• Experience installing high-end architectural hardware (Baldwin, Rocky Mountain, Sun Valley, etc.)
• Cabinet installation experience
• Lead carpenter experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish

Pay: From $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
