Finisher - Custom Cabinetry

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finisher for our Custom Cabinetry team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying finishes, coatings, and paint to custom cabinetry components, ensuring the highest quality standards are met. Your expertise in surface preparation, painting techniques, and finishing processes will contribute to delivering exceptional products that exceed customer expectations. Duties

• Prepare surfaces of cabinetry components through sanding, cleaning, and surface treatment to ensure optimal adhesion of finishes.
• Operate various hand tools, power tools, spray guns (including airless and conventional sprayers), and coating equipment to apply paint, stain, lacquer, or other finishes with precision.
• Interpret production documents such as work orders and finish specifications to ensure accurate application of coatings and color matching.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols by using personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, gloves, goggles, and protective clothing during all finishing processes.
• Conduct visual color comparisons and quality inspections to verify finish consistency and meet established quality standards in production.
• Handle materials safely using forklifts or cranes when necessary for moving cabinetry parts within the manufacturing area.
• Perform surface preparation tasks including construction painting surface prep and fabrication finishing to achieve smooth, durable coatings on cabinetry surfaces.
• Use precision measuring instruments and hand tools for detailed touch-ups and finishing adjustments.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives by maintaining clean workspaces and following standardized procedures for efficient workflow.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in industrial painting, coating application, or finishing within a manufacturing or woodworking environment.
• Knowledge of powder coating, industrial painting techniques, and materials handling processes.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, production documents, and specifications accurately.
• Mechanical aptitude with familiarity in machining, fabrication, auto body repair techniques, or construction painting surface prep is a plus.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and visual color comparison tools.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols with consistent PPE use including respirators and respiratory protection devices.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating thicknesses or material quantities.
• Warehouse experience or familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts or cranes is advantageous.
• Commitment to quality standards in production with attention to detail in finishing tasks.
