What they need
About Loon’s Edge Remodeling
We are a small, family-owned remodeling company dedicated to high-end craftsmanship and clear, honest communication. We specialize in transforming kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and exterior spaces throughout the Twin Cities. We are currently looking for a skilled Finishing Carpenter who takes pride in the details—the kind of craftsman whose work defines the final look and feel of a custom remodel.
The Role
As our Finishing Carpenter, you will be responsible for the final details that turn a construction site into a finished home. You’ll work independently or alongside our team to install custom trim, molding, baseboards, doors, cabinetry, and other fine carpentry elements. We need someone who has an eye for precision, a steady hand with tools, and a commitment to keeping a clean, professional job site.
Key Responsibilities
- Custom Trim & Millwork: Accurately measure, cut, and install baseboards, crown molding, window and door casings, and specialty woodwork.
- Door & Hardware Installation: Hang interior and exterior doors, and install hardware with precise reveals and alignment.
- Cabinetry & Built-Ins: Assist with or manage the precise installation of custom cabinetry and shelving units.
- Quality Control: Ensure all finished surfaces are flawless, joints are tight, and work meets the high standards of Loon’s Edge Remodeling.
- Job Site Professionalism: Maintain a clean work area and represent our company respectfully when interacting with clients on-site.
What We Require
- Experience: Proven professional background in finish carpentry and woodworking.
- Technical Skill: Proficiency with miter saws, pneumatic nailers, hand tools, and measuring equipment.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous eye for tight miters, seamless transitions, and high-end aesthetics.
- Reliability & Transport: A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, a reliable vehicle to get to job sites, and your own basic hand tools.
Benefits & Perks
- Competitive W-2 Pay: $26 - $32/hour, paid biweekly. Depending on experience.
- Flexible Schedule: Options for either full-time or part-time hours to fit your lifestyle.
- Paid Time Off (PTO): To ensure a healthy work-life balance.
- MN Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML): Full compliance and coverage under Minnesota’s state program.
- Retirement: IRA match options available.
