What they need

The Finishing Line Technician is responsible for supporting daily operation of the Company’s enclosed, computer-controlled powder-coat paintline, including equipment maintenance, chemical testing and balancing, system testing, and process monitoring. This role ensures that all paintline activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Company standards. The position is well-suited for an individual eager to learn a custom-built system, take initiative, and develop technical expertise in paintline operations. This position is designated safety-sensitive under applicable Company policy because it involves regular presence on the production floor, work in proximity to operating production machinery, handling of materials, and other conditions in which a momentary lapse in attention, judgment, or motor function could result in injury, significant property damage, or a breach of federal contract or regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions

The following are the essential functions of this position. Performance of these duties — with or without reasonable accommodation — is required.

  • Perform daily maintenance and inspection of paintline equipment to verify proper operation.
  • Test, balance, and replace paintline chemicals and coatings, and verify proper hookup and fluid levels, in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Monitor and document operational parameters of the paintline and report results to supervisors.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of chemicals and coatings in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and promptly report equipment issues, process deviations, or safety concerns.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for chemical handling, testing, and equipment operation.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across paintline operations, as approved by your supervisor.
  • Learn and adapt to a custom-built paintline system, taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.
  • When teaching or training others, demonstrate only the procedures that have been explained or authorized, and refer anything outside that scope to a supervisor.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve daily production and safety goals.
  • Maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance in accordance with the assigned work schedule and the Company's attendance policies. Reliable attendance is essential because paintline checks and processing must occur on each shift.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management consistent with the role.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role is performed in an active manufacturing environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Regularly lifts, carries, and moves materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Works with chemicals, paints, and coatings in accordance with the Company's safety, environmental, and hazard communication programs.
  • Works in a manufacturing environment that may include exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, fumes, and airborne particles within OSHA-permissible limits.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and other task-specific equipment as required by the Company's safety program.

What You Bring

Required

  • Willingness and ability to learn a specialized, custom-built paintline system.
  • Ability to safely handle, test, and balance chemicals and coatings, including following Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hazard-communication requirements.
