Fire Alarm Field Technician

Fire Safety Alarms, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm Field Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a significant impact in the fire safety industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a technology-oriented individual with a desire to utilize their skills in fire safety alarm systems throughout the NYC area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must be able to work with senior and seasoned Technicians and assist them in routine installations and full servicing of systems and equipment. You may be asked to help input/review work orders, completing and maintaining daily notes of installation, maintenance, repairs, and service history, progress reports showing that project specs are completed, and picture documentation before closing the job. Complete reports on time, including service paperwork, inventory log, time card and weekly expense reports.
• Fire Alarm System Installation/Maintenance/Servicing
• Low Voltage Wiring
• EMT/Rigid Pipe-work
• Basic Power Tool Operation
• Electrical Troubleshooting
• Familiar with EST panel a plus
• Understanding Building codes, specifically NYC, and fire alarm codes
• Must adhere to all safety regulations and company policies

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or Greater Required
• Must be fluent in English. Reading, writing, speaking
• Basic Fire Alarm/Electrical Knowledge
• Prior hands-on experience is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret CAD fire alarm blueprints and schematics would be beneficial
• Familiar with NFPA-72
• NYC Certificate of Fitness S-98 (Fire Alarm System Inspection, Test and Service Technician) also a Plus
• Candidate must be a Self-Starter with a Good Work Ethic. Works well independently and as part of a team.
• Candidate must have a current, clean Driver's License - No moving violations
• Able to participate in a two-week rotating "on-call" schedule
• Must meet physical demands of the job such as lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, standing for long periods of time.
• Candidate must be willing and able to report to various job sites in New York City and on occasion, report to our headquarters located in Newark, NJ.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
