Service Engineer

Location: Mobile across South East England (ideal base: Cambridgeshire) Salary: £35,000–£40,000 (DOE + qualifications) Hours: Full-time, 45 hours per week Contract: Permanent

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Fire Safety Service Engineer to carry out servicing, remedials and light repairs across a range of fire protection systems. This role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, problem‑solving and delivering high‑quality work across varied sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and complete remedial works on fire safety systems in line with industry standards

• Inspect, fault‑find and troubleshoot existing installations

• Work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure excellent service delivery

• Complete accurate reports, documentation and inventory records

• Keep up to date with relevant standards, technologies and best practice

• Participate in the out‑of‑hours call‑out rota

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience as a Fire Safety Engineer

• Strong problem‑solving ability and high attention to detail

• Able to work independently and collaboratively

• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South East

Desirable (Bonus) Skills

• Fire alarm system commissioning

• Experience with security systems

• Smoke ventilation (AOV) testing, installation or commissioning
