Fire & Security Engineer

Black Box Group, powered by Scutum, is looking for experienced Multi-Disciplined Fire & Security Technicians to join our growing team. We welcome applications from engineers with a fire background, security background, or experience across both disciplines.

Working across customer sites throughout the North West and beyond when required, you will play a key role in delivering installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault-finding services across a range of life safety and electronic security systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated engineer who takes pride in delivering high standards of workmanship and exceptional customer service.

You'll work closely with customers, colleagues and management teams, representing Black Box Group professionally while ensuring systems are installed, maintained and operating effectively.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation and commissioning of fire and/or security systems.
• Complete maintenance, servicing and fault-finding activities across relevant system types.
• Support remote monitoring systems where applicable.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults efficiently and effectively.
• Complete job sheets, service reports and audit documentation accurately using both manual and electronic systems.
• Manage and maintain vehicle stock to a high standard.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
• Deliver a professional and customer-focused service at all times.
• Build strong working relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
• Manage workloads effectively and prioritise tasks appropriately.
• Participate in the 24-hour call-out rota.
• Represent Black Box Group professionally as a company ambassador on customer sites.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years' experience (excluding training) within Electronic Security and/or Life Safety Systems.
• Proven experience installing and commissioning Fire or Security systems.
• Experience carrying out maintenance, servicing and fault-finding to a high standard.
• Strong understanding of IT, networking and electrical/electronic principles.
• Experience working directly with customers in a client-facing environment.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage workloads.
• Good understanding of safe working practices and Health & Safety requirements.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Ability to satisfy security screening requirements, including BS7858, DBS and Police checks.
