Contents Restoration Technician – Fire & Water Damage

Griffin’s Dry Cleaners / Renewal by Griffin’s is seeking a dependable, hardworking Contents Restoration Technician to join our restoration team.

We specialize in restoring the personal property and contents inside homes and businesses affected by fire, smoke, water, mold, and other property losses. This position is focused specifically on contents restoration — we do not perform structural drying, construction, or structural restoration.

Our technicians work directly at loss sites to carefully pack, move, transport, clean, restore, and return customers' belongings. The work can be physically demanding and sometimes takes place in hot, dirty, or difficult environments, but it is also rewarding work helping families and businesses recover after a disaster.

What You'll Be Doing

• Respond to homes and businesses affected by fire, smoke, water, and other property damage
• Carefully pack and document customers' personal belongings
• Move furniture, boxes, appliances, and other household contents
• Load and unload company trucks
• Transport contents between customer locations and our restoration facility
• Clean and restore furniture, clothing, household goods, electronics, and other personal property
• Assist with inventory and organization of customers' belongings
• Return restored contents to customers and assist with unpacking and furniture placement
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and work area
• Work closely with other technicians and crew leaders to complete jobs safely and efficiently

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is reliable, physically capable, and willing to work. Previous restoration experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.

A successful candidate should:

• Be comfortable working in hot, dirty, smoky, wet, and sometimes difficult environments
• Be physically capable of lifting and moving heavy furniture and household items
• Be able to work on their feet for extended periods
• Be dependable and show up to work on time
• Have a positive attitude and work well as part of a team
• Be careful and respectful when handling customers' belongings
• Be willing to learn our restoration and inventory processes
• Be comfortable entering homes and businesses that have recently experienced fires, water losses, or other disasters
• Have a valid driver's license and a clean/reasonable driving record
• Be able to communicate professionally with coworkers and customers

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding, hands-on position. Applicants should be able to:

• Regularly lift and carry 50+ pounds
• Assist with moving heavier furniture and appliances as part of a team
• Bend, kneel, climb stairs, reach, and stand for extended periods
• Work in Florida heat and in buildings where air conditioning may not be operational
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required

What This Job Is — and Isn't

This IS a contents restoration position. We recover, inventory, pack, transport, clean, store, and return the belongings inside damaged properties.

This is NOT a construction or structural drying position. Our technicians are not being hired to tear out drywall, operate structural drying systems, rebuild homes, or perform construction work.
