Job Summary

We’re looking for an experienced Fire Door & Fire Stopping Technician to join our team.

You’ll be responsible for fire door installation, maintenance and remedial works, alongside fire stopping, compartmentation and passive fire protection works.

The ideal candidate will have strong industry knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering safe, compliant, high-quality work.

What You’ll Do:

• Install, maintain, repair, and remediate fire doors in line with current regulations, manufacturer requirements, and third-party certification standards.
• Carry out fire stopping and compartmentation works, including sealing service penetrations and maintaining the integrity of fire-rated structures.
• Complete fire door and fire stopping surveys, identifying defects, non-compliances, and required remedial works.
• Undertake remedial works to fire doors, including adjustments, replacement of components, ironmongery, seals, glazing, and other associated works.
• Install fire stopping systems using approved and tested products in accordance with manufacturers’ installation requirements.
• Prepare clear, accurate records of works completed, including photographic evidence where required.
• Deliver work to BM TRADA, FIRAS, or other relevant accreditation and certification standards.
• Work independently and collaboratively across commercial, residential, and public sector projects.
• Follow all health & safety, site-specific, and company procedures.
• Maintain a professional approach when working on client sites and interacting with customers and other contractors.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience in fire door installation, maintenance, adjustment, and repair.
• Experience in fire stopping, passive fire protection, and compartmentation.
• Good understanding of fire door and fire stopping requirements and industry standards.
• Experience carrying out surveys, identifying defects, and completing remedial works.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and guidance, including BS 8214, BS 476 and BS EN 1634.
• Experience working with tested fire stopping systems and manufacturer installation requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, compliant work.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Full UK driving licence.
