Fire Project Manager

About the role

The Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of commercial wet fire (sprinklers, hydrants) or dry fire (alarms, detection) installations, managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and compliance with Australian Standards. You will join a high level Management team in delivering medium to large scale project works, which vary from large system upgrades to new system installs across Wet and Dry Fire systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial, industrial, or infrastructure fire projects from initial award and design to final commissioning and handover
• Handle budgeting, cost forecasting, variations, and subcontractor procurement
• Ensure adherence to Australian Standards (AS), Building Code of Australia (BCA), and strict on-site health and safety protocols
• Coordinate with internal sprinkler/alarm teams, external trades, builders, consultants, and council representatives
• Attend mandatory tender walk through and provide all relevant information to the Estimation team for accurate proposals
• Proactively plan Labour needs with division managers ensuring adequate means to deliver on deadlines

About you

• Proven track record in project management within the fire protection & construction services sector
• Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and fire system specifications (wet or dry systems)
• Sound grasp of Australian Standards (AS) and compliance frameworks for life safety systems
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation tactics
• Advanced MS Office proficiency and familiarity with CAD or specialized industry software
• Formal background in Project Management, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related trade/discipline is highly regarded
