What they need

Morson Edge Recruitment is partnering with a close-knit fire protection team seeking an experienced Fire Pump Technician to service, maintain, repair, and test diesel and electric pump sets across Sydney sites - This role is ideal for someone with industry experience who is looking to take the next step in their career.

This is a hands-on, field-based role working across schools, strata, and commercial sites, reporting directly to the Service Manager whilst working autonomously. This is a rare opportunity for the right person to step in and play a key role in growing and shaping the wet fire services division of the business.

  What’s on offer:

  • $50–$65 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Long-term support provided through a dedicated fire technician/trainee to assist with your workload
  • Potential commission structure incentive in place per job for the right candidate.
  • Company vehicle, fuel card, and e-tag provided
  • Full tools, materials, uniform, and phone supplied
  • Ongoing training, development, and investment in your future
  • Opportunity to help build and lead a growing division

Role Responsibilities:

  • Service, repair, and maintenance of electric and diesel fire pumps
  • Carry out sprinkler and hydrant flow testing
  • Monthly and annual testing programs
  • Fault finding, repairs, and overhauls
  • Oil, valve, and filter changes
  • General wet system works (minor works as required)
  • 5-yearly pump set servicing
  • 5-yearly overhauls of landing valves and sprinkler alarm valves

About you:

  • Sprinkler Fitter qualification or Plumbing Licence
  • Experience in the fire protection industry is essential, with strong hands-on experience working with fire pumps also required.
  • Able to work autonomously and take ownership of work
  • Strong problem-solving and technical ability
  • Experience in a field service role highly regarded
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and willing to grow with the business

What makes this role different?

  • Small, supportive team with direct access to leadership
  • No existing pump division – genuine opportunity to build it from the ground up
  • Dedicated fire technician/trainee planned to support your workload long-term
  • Strong focus on training, development, and long-term career growth
  • Close working relationship with the owner and service coordinator
