What they need

SYREX Group is looking for an experienced Sprinkler Installation Engineer to support our Fire & Safety division.

We work across construction, commercial premises and infrastructure. We are a small team that values reliable people, careful workmanship and clear communication with customers.

This is a practical installation role working to approved sprinkler designs. You will take responsibility for your installation work and coordinate with designers, commissioning specialists and other trades.

What you will do

· Install sprinkler pipework, supports, heads, valves and associated equipment to approved drawings and specifications.

· Prepare and assemble steel pipework using appropriate threaded or grooved connections.

· Check routes, head positions and supports against the approved design, raising clashes or proposed changes before proceeding.

· Carry out installation checks, flushing and pressure testing under approved procedures and within your competence.

· Support commissioning, resolve installation defects and maintain accurate test and as-fitted records.

· Work safely on construction and occupied sites, coordinating with other trades and reporting progress clearly.

What we are looking for

· Proven commercial sprinkler installation experience and strong practical pipework skills.

· Ability to read sprinkler drawings and understand the installation requirements of the applicable project standards, including the BS EN 12845 series and LPC Rules where specified.

· Experience of installation checks and pressure testing, with careful attention to system isolation and reinstatement procedures.

· Ability to organise your work, maintain high standards and recognise issues requiring design or specialist input.

· Relevant site safety training and an appropriate construction skills card, or willingness to obtain the required card before deployment.

· A full driving licence valid in the UK and willingness to travel to sites, with occasional overnight stays by agreement.

Useful additional experience

An ABBE Level 2 Certificate in Fire Sprinkler Installation for the relevant discipline, or an equivalent recognised qualification, is desirable. Manufacturer training and IPAF or PASMA training are useful.

Residential sprinkler experience to BS 9251, approved CPVC systems, pumps, specialist valves or commissioning would be valuable. Fire alarm or suppression interface knowledge is welcome.

Installation is the core role. Design and final commissioning duties depend on separately verified competence.

Apply

Apply through Indeed with your CV and a brief summary of installations you have personally completed. Please state whether your experience covers commercial steel-pipe systems, residential systems or both, and list relevant qualifications.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
