Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fire Stopper to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and inspecting fire stopping systems to ensure building safety and compliance with fire protection standards. Your expertise will help safeguard personnel and property by preventing the spread of fire and smoke through structural openings.

Duties

• Install fire stopping materials around penetrations, joints, and openings in walls, floors, and ceilings using hand tools and power tools.
• Conduct regular inspections of existing fire stopping systems to verify their integrity and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate fire stop installations seamlessly within ongoing projects.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans related to fire protection systems.
• Maintain detailed records of installation activities, inspections, and maintenance logs for compliance purposes.
• Identify potential fire safety hazards and recommend corrective actions promptly.
• Assist in training team members on proper fire stopping techniques and safety procedures.

Skills

• Proven experience with roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, or general construction is highly advantageous.
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, and construction blueprints related to fire safety systems.
• Strong background in masonry, carpentry, plastering, construction painting, or related trades.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced construction environments.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards and quality assurance.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes and fire safety regulations.

Pay: Up to £40,000.00 per year
