We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, safety and delivering projects right first time for our clients.

Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fire Stopping Installation Manager to join a growing business working on high-profile infrastructure projects across the UK. You'll play a key role in leading installation teams, maintaining exceptional quality standards, third party certification expectations (IFC/Kiwa), and helping shape the future growth of our fire protection division.

You will be responsible for planning, resourcing, quality assurance, client coordination, and ensuring safe, compliant delivery of all fire stopping activities. The role requires strong leadership, technical competence, and the ability to manage multiple work fronts simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership — Manage the supervisor and installation team, ensuring efficient task allocation, productivity, and adherence to programme requirements.
  • Planning & Coordination — Develop daily/weekly work plans, coordinate with site management, and ensure materials, permits, and access are in place.
  • Quality Assurance Oversight — Review installation quality, ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, project drawings, and certification standards.
  • Client Interface — Act as the senior point of contact for the principal contractor, attending coordination meetings and resolving technical or logistical issues.
  • Safety Management — Ensure RAMS are followed, lead safety briefings, and maintain high standards of site compliance.
  • Documentation Control — Oversee installation records, photo evidence, sign‑off documentation, and ensure accurate reporting through OneTrace or equivalent systems.
  • Technical Support — Provide guidance on complex installation details, fire stopping methodology, and system requirements.
  • Performance Management — Mentor and support installer development and uphold CSD’s “right first time” philosophy.
  • Problem Solving — Address clashes, sequencing issues, and coordination challenges with other trades.
  • Travel Flexibility — Attend UK sites as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Extensive fire stopping installation experience with strong technical knowledge of multiple system types.
  • Proven leadership experience managing installers and multi‑site installation teams.
  • Strong understanding of British Standards, manufacturer requirements, and third‑party certification processes.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and installation details.
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrable commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Strong organisational and planning capability.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fire Stopping.
  • SSSTS/SMSTS qualification.
  • CSCS Supervisor/Manager card.
  • Experience on major infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Knowledge of IFC/Kiwa or similar certification schemes.
  • Experience using OneTrace or similar digital QA systems.

Don't worry if you don't meet every requirement. If you have relevant experience and are keen to develop your career, we'd still love to hear from you.

Personal Attributes

  • Proactive, decisive leadership with a hands‑on approach.
  • High attention to detail and pride in installation quality.
  • Calm, organised, and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Professional, reliable, and confident when representing the company.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset.

Contract Details / Benefits

  • Permanent contract.
  • This role involves working away from home during the week on projects across the UK. Accommodation and subsistence allowance are provided where required.
