Fire Suppression Technician

Job Summary: Amerisafe is seeking a dedicated Fire Suppression Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and inspecting fire suppression systems, including kitchen hood systems and portable fire extinguishers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of fire protection systems, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and thrive in a collaborative team environment. This position offers significant autonomy, requiring a self-motivated individual who can think critically and solve problems effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and maintain fire suppression systems in various settings.
• Conduct inspections and tests on fire suppression systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Perform site surveys to assess system requirements and develop bills of materials.
• Collaborate with team members to project labor needs and develop project schedules.
• Address client inquiries and concerns with exceptional customer service.
• Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate challenges independently.

Schedule:

• Flexible work schedule with most days ending by 3 PM.
• Early morning position
• Typical start times are 4:00 AM or 5:00 AM
• Candidates must be comfortable working before standard business hours
• Occasional overtime and travel may be required based on customer needs

Requirements:

• Minium 2 years previous experience in fire suppression systems or a related field required.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Strong understanding of fire safety regulations and standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and attention to detail.
• Self-starter with a high level of motivation and the ability to work autonomously.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record to operate company vehicles.

Pay: $22.00 - $42.00 per hour
