Firefighter-Paramedic (Entry Level)

The Position

The Department of Child Support Services is currently seeking to fill 4 vacant Accounting Technician positions. This position, under general direction, performs specialized and complex clerical accounting work, processes and records financial transactions in a major accounting system and completes other tasks as required.

Work Schedule: Choice of six 9/80 plans (8:00 a.m. to 5:30 preferred)

Typical Tasks

• Establishes, maintains and controls subsidiary accounting records and journals involving a variety of accounts and transactions
• Reconciles and balances account funds
• Interprets rules and regulations relating to the preparation of clerical accounting records and reports.
• Prepares a variety of monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• May assist in the preparation and control of departmental budget.

Minimum Qualifications Experience: Four years of experience or its equivalent in the preparation and processing of accounting documents and in the maintenance of accounting records, at least one year of which was at the level of Contra Costa County Account Clerk III classification or higher.
