Key Responsibilities

• Assess the Scene: Quickly check the area for any ongoing danger to ensure it is safe for you and the victim before stepping in.
• Protect Yourself and Others: Use personal protective equipment (PPE) like disposable gloves to prevent cross-infection, and keep bystanders at a safe distance.
• Assess the Casualty: Check the person's airway, breathing, and circulation, and prioritize care for the most life-threatening conditions.
• Provide First Aid Treatment: Administer necessary basic care within your training level, such as performing CPR, applying pressure to stop bleeding, or placing an unconscious person in the recovery position.
• Reassure the Casualty: Stay calm, comfort the victim, and maintain their dignity while explaining what you are doing.
• Call for Emergency Help: Contact emergency medical services (EMS) or arrange transport to a hospital as soon as possible.
• Record and Report Details: Document the incident details, injuries observed, and treatment provided, then hand over the information to professional responders
• Maintain Supplies: Keep first aid kits fully stocked, clean, and accessible, and ensure your certification remains up to date.
