As a First Cook, you’ll be a key member of the culinary team. You should be comfortable working independently at a station, preparing food from recipes and production needs, and keeping service running smoothly during busy periods.
You’ll enjoy a professional, team-oriented kitchen environment with steady daytime hours, no late nights, and a schedule that supports work-life balance.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and cook high-quality breakfast and lunch items for daily café service
- Independently set up, operate, and maintain assigned cooking stations
- Prepare made-to-order and batch-cooked menu items with attention to quality, flavor, presentation, and consistency
- Follow recipes, production sheets, portion standards, and established culinary procedures
- Support food preparation and execution for catering, meetings, and special events
- Monitor food quality, freshness, temperatures, and presentation throughout service
- Keep your station clean, organized, stocked, and ready for service
- Follow food safety, sanitation, allergen, and workplace safety standards
- Work closely with chefs, managers, and other team members to keep production and service on track
- Assist with receiving, stocking, cleaning, and other kitchen responsibilities as needed
- Provide friendly, professional service and interact positively with guests
What We’re Looking For
- Previous professional cooking experience in a restaurant, corporate dining, hospitality, catering, or similar food service environment
- Strong cooking skills and the ability to confidently work a station with limited supervision
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to follow recipes and consistently meet quality and portion standards
- Ability to stay organized and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Strong attention to food quality, presentation, sanitation, and safety
- Dependable, punctual, and ready to contribute wherever the team needs support
- Positive, team-focused attitude and strong communication skills
- Ability to pass a background check
