First Steps 4K Teacher

Job Overview:
The Learning Leadership Center in Rock Hill, SC is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Pre-K Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating educational environment where young children can develop foundational skills in preparation for kindergarten. This role involves planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that encourages children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Planning and Implementation:

• Develop and execute a dynamic curriculum that promotes early childhood education and aligns with state standards.
• Create lesson plans that cater to individual learning styles and developmental stages.
• Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, including play-based learning, hands-on activities, and technology integration.

2. Classroom Management:

• Establish and maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
• Implement effective classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior and ensure a conducive learning atmosphere.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.

3. Student Development:

• Foster a love for learning and encourage curiosity in young children.
• Support children’s social and emotional development through positive interactions and role modeling.
• Identify and address individual student needs, including those requiring special education services.

4. Communication and Collaboration:

• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers about their child’s progress and any concerns.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational experience.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

5. Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations related to early childhood education.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessments, and other required documentation.
• Adhere to the center’s health and safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Certification in Early Childhood Education (or eligibility for certification).
• Previous experience teaching in a Pre-K or early childhood setting is preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
