First Year Apprentice Greenkeeper

About the role

As a Greenkeeping Apprentice, you will gain hands-on training across all areas of sports turf and golf course maintenance while completing a nationally recognised Certificate III in Sports Turf Management. You'll work alongside experienced greenkeepers and learn the skills required to develop a long-term career in the industry.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily course preparation and presentation, including mowing, raking, trimming and set-up
• Learn the safe and effective operation of turf maintenance equipment and machinery
• Support irrigation setup, watering practices and minor repairs under guidance
• Take part in renovation works, including coring, scarifying and topdressing
• Develop knowledge of turf health, including pest, weed and disease identification
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment
• Attend TAFE and complete all required apprenticeship coursework

About you

• Reliable, punctual and keen to learn
• Enjoys physical, outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Able to work well in a team environment
• Has strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Holds (or is willing to obtain) a driver's licence
• Passionate about turf, sport or environmental work (no previous experience required)
