Fit Out Engineer

Job Summary:

The Fit-Out Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating interior fit-out and finishing works, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Job Responsibilities

1. Plan, coordinate, and supervise all interior fit-out activities, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and quality standards.

2. Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify discrepancies and ensure proper coordination before execution.

3. Manage the execution of interior fit-out works, including partitions, ceilings, flooring, wall finishes, joinery, painting, and other finishing activities.

4. Monitor daily site activities and ensure that work is completed according to the approved project schedule and budget.

5. Coordinate with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.

6. Prepare and review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documentation for consultant approval.

7. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, material quality, and compliance with project requirements.

8. Ensure proper coordination between civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works to avoid site conflicts and delays.

9. Monitor material requirements, prepare material requisitions, and coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery.

10. Supervise subcontractors and site workers, ensuring productivity, safety, and adherence to approved construction methods.

11. Identify technical issues during execution and provide practical solutions to maintain project progress.

12. Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, track project milestones, and report any delays or technical concerns to management.

13. Ensure all fit-out activities comply with UAE building regulations, local authority requirements, HSE standards, and approved project specifications.

14. Coordinate with consultants and clients for inspections, approvals, snagging, and rectification of outstanding works.

15. Monitor project costs, material consumption, and variations to minimize wastage and maintain budget control.

16. Assist in preparing as-built drawings, project handover documents, operation and maintenance manuals, and final completion reports.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in interior fit-out and finishing works, preferably in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of interior finishing materials, construction methods, and site execution.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management software.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Familiarity with UAE construction standards, authority regulations, and site safety requirements.
• Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and team management skills.
• Ability to handle multiple site activities and meet project deadlines.
