Fitness Specialist

EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt, hourly, full-time, 30 hours or more per week

REPORTS TO: Fitness Coordinator & Dir of Comm. Life

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Fitness Coordinator and/or the Administrator the incumbent is responsible for assisting with the fitness programs and supervised exercise sessions within the community.

Primary Job Duties:

• Implement and coordinate a fitness and wellness program.

• Evaluate and assess the needs and physical capabilities of each resident.

• Formulate and implement a program of exercise suited to each individual.

• Lead a variety of challenging and safe group exercise classes.

• Lead exercise programs and monitor individuals as they use exercise equipment.

• Conduct assessment, initial and ongoing, of residents and guide their participation in exercise programs and initiatives.

• Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of the fitness equipment.
