Fitter

About the role

Reporting to the Fitting Shop Team Leader, you'll play a key role in the manufacture, assembly, repair and testing of Ebsray products. This is a hands-on Fitter/Turner role based at our Cromer site on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

Key responsibilities

• Bench fitting, assembly and testing of pump products
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Maintaining in-house equipment including radial drills, lathes, hydraulic presses, spray booths and test stations
• Repairing and overhauling in-house pumps
• Setting up and operating metalworking machinery
• Turning, milling, drilling, grinding and other machining operations
• Heat shrinking of components and broaching keyways on shafts
• Fitting and assembling metal components and sub-assemblies
• Diagnosing faults and repairing or replacing defective components
• Inspecting completed work to ensure quality and accuracy

• Mechanical trade qualification
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Excellent mechanical problem-solving skills
• An interest in LEAN and continuous improvement
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Good organisational and time-management skills
