This is a hands-on fitting role suited to someone with strong mechanical aptitude and experience in the transport industry. While some fabrication and welding is involved, the focus is on assembly, installation, maintenance and repair rather than heavy fabrication work.
We are interested in experienced Fitter/Fabricators, but will also consider highly skilled fitters who have limited fabrication experience.

- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
- Servicing and maintaining pumps, valves, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Performing preventative maintenance and inspections
- Assisting with breakdowns and emergency repairs when required
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Working closely with the wider workshop team on new builds and refurbishment projects
What we're looking for
- Trade qualified Fitter, Fitter/Turner, Mechanical Fitter or similar
- At least 3 years' relevant industry experience
- Background working within the transport, tanker, trailer or heavy vehicle industry
- Strong mechanical fitting and fault-finding skills
- Experience with pumps, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable experience
- Aluminium fabrication experience
- TIG welding experience on aluminium
- MIG welding experience
- Experience operating workshop machinery such as lathes and milling machines
- Heavy vehicle or trailer maintenance experience
What's on offer
- Varied work across new builds, maintenance and modifications
- Modern workshop environment
- Stable long-term opportunity
- Overtime available
- Opportunity to work on specialised transport equipment
- Supportive team with a strong focus on quality and safety
This role would suit a mechanically minded fitter who enjoys solving problems, working on specialised equipment and taking pride in producing high-quality work. If you've worked in the transport sector and have strong fitting skills, we'd like to hear from you.
