Fitter

We are seeking a skilled Fitter with hands-on experience in fitting, fabrication, assembly, and installation of mechanical components, pipes, fittings, and equipment. The ideal candidate should be able to read technical drawings, perform accurate measurements and alignment, and ensure all fitting activities meet project specifications, quality standards, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out fitting, fabrication, assembly, and installation of mechanical components, pipes, fittings, flanges, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and piping isometric drawings.
• Measure, mark, cut, bevel, and prepare pipes and components for fitting and assembly.
• Perform pipe fit-up, alignment, tack welding preparation, and joint preparation before welding.
• Install and assemble mechanical components, piping systems, supports, and equipment as required.
• Ensure proper dimensions, alignment, clearances, and tolerances according to project specifications.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely and accurately.
• Inspect fitted components and rectify alignment or dimensional issues before final installation or welding.
• Coordinate with welders, supervisors, and QA/QC inspectors to ensure work meets quality requirements.
• Follow approved method statements, Permit to Work (PTW) procedures, and site HSE regulations.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Complete assigned tasks within project schedules while maintaining safety and workmanship standards.

Requirements

• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Fitter in an industrial, mechanical, or piping environment.
• Practical experience in fitting, fabrication, assembly, pipe fit-up, and mechanical installation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and piping isometric drawings.
• Knowledge of measuring, cutting, beveling, alignment, and joint preparation.
• Familiarity with mechanical tools, measuring instruments, and industrial safety procedures.
• Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, power plant, or industrial projects is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with welders, technicians, supervisors, and other site personnel.
