What they need

Looking for an experienced Fitter/Welder to join our team.

This is a hands-on role offering a mix of fabrication, maintenance, installation and repair work across a wide range of industrial and marine engineering projects throughout Canterbury.

You'll split your time between our workshop and customer sites, working on interesting projects, solving problems and delivering quality workmanship. For the right person, there will be opportunities to take the lead on jobs and mentor less experienced staff.
What You'll Be Doing

  • General fitting, fabrication and welding work
  • Installation, maintenance and breakdown repairs on customer sites
  • Working on industrial plant, equipment, structures and marine-related projects
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Coordinating site work and leading small teams when required
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and workmanship

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Fitter/Welder or Heavy Fabricator
  • Strong fabrication and welding skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of jobs
  • Experience leading teams or coordinating site work
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability
  • Strong communication skills and a practical approach
  • Full driving licence
  • Comfortable working both in the workshop and out on site
  • Marine engineering experience would be highly regarded
  • Trade qualification preferred, but practical experience is what matters most

What's On Offer

  • Diverse and interesting work across Canterbury
  • Exposure to industrial and marine engineering projects
  • A mix of workshop and field-based work
  • Opportunity to take on responsibility and lead projects
  • Stable long-term position with a respected engineering business
  • Supportive team environment where your experience is valued
