Fitter/Welder

1. Job Purpose

To perform sheet metal fitting, fabrication, welding, and assembly work as per engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements while maintaining quality and workplace safety.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Read and understand engineering drawings and fabrication details.
• Perform sheet metal fitting, marking, measuring, cutting, and alignment.
• Carry out MIG welding and other welding operations as required.
• Fit and assemble sheet metal parts, frames, panels, and enclosures.
• Perform tack welding, final welding, and grinding of welded components.
• Ensure proper dimensions, squareness, alignment, and weld quality.
• Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely.
• Use measuring instruments such as measuring tapes, squares, vernier calipers, and gauges.
• Check finished components as per drawings and quality standards.
• Maintain housekeeping and follow workplace safety procedures.
• Report material shortages, drawing discrepancies, and quality issues to the supervisor.
• Complete assigned production work within the specified timeline.

3. Required Skills and Qualifications

• ITI / relevant technical qualification preferred.
• Practical experience in sheet metal fabrication and welding.
• Knowledge of MIG welding, fitting, and assembly.
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of sheet metal materials, thicknesses, and fabrication processes.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
• Attention to detail, teamwork, and time management.

4. Safety Requirements

• Wear appropriate PPE, including a welding helmet, gloves, safety shoes, and protective clothing.
• Follow welding, grinding, and machine safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area.
• Follow company safety instructions and report unsafe conditions.

5. Performance Expectations

• Maintain required welding and fabrication quality.
• Achieve daily production targets.
• Minimize material wastage and rework.
• Complete jobs as per drawings and delivery schedules.
• Maintain discipline, punctuality, and proper housekeeping.

6. Experience

Relevant experience in sheet metal fabrication, industrial enclosures, electrical panels, frames, and welded assemblies is preferred.

Pay: ₹9,800.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
