Fitter/Welder (Structural / Misc. Steel)

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fitter to join our fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling structural components using MIG welding. Your expertise in interpreting technical drawings will be essential to ensure precision and accuracy. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your fabrication knowledge and hands-on skills to contribute to high-quality product. Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications for welding and fitting tasks
• Perform MIG welding, GMAW, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding techniques with precision and consistency
• Fabricate, some assembly, using hand tools, CNC machinery and power tools
• Conduct rigging operations for lifting heavy components safely in shop while adhering to safety regulations
• Use basic math skills, and measurement tools to ensure accurate fabrication according to specifications
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Assist in maintenance activities, material handling, and material processing
• Interpret technical schematics and construction documents accurately to guide fabrication and installation processes
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high safety standards
• Use torch to cut and or straighten material / fabrications

Qualifications

• Proven experience in welding (GMAW, FCAW) with a strong understanding of welding techniques; certified preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints effectively
• Mechanical knowledge of MIG welding machine and shop tools/machinery
• Familiarity with AWS D1.1 / D1.9 standards
• Experience working in a manufacturing environments involving structural or miscellaneous steel is a plus.
• Skilled in using hand tools such as grinder, torch, and other standard shop tools
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary for fabrication tasks
• Strong commitment to safety regulations including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and work independently or as part of a team

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
