Fixed Income/Equity Trader

About the role

Guotai Global Investments Limited is seeking a Fixed Income / Equity Trader to join the investment team in Hong Kong. This role offers meaningful exposure to trading, ETF portfolio management and the full investment operating cycle, working closely with investment, operations, compliance and other cross-functional teams to help deliver disciplined execution, robust risk control and accurate portfolio management.

Key responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day trading and management of fixed income and equity products, with a primary focus on China, Hong Kong and other regional markets

• Execute and monitor trading activities in line with investment strategies, portfolio objectives and applicable investment restrictions

• Work closely with operations, compliance and internal stakeholders to ensure trades are processed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with relevant requirements

• Monitor daily changes to fund constituents and support periodic portfolio rebalancing, updating transaction documentation promptly as market conditions evolve

• Identify and resolve issues arising across trading, risk control and operations, exercising sound judgement in time-sensitive situations

• Contribute to process improvements, data analysis and technology-enabled enhancements to trading and portfolio management workflows

About you

• A degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in equity trading; exposure to fixed income, ETFs or fund management is highly desirable
• Strong interest in financial markets and a genuine motivation to learn and develop
• The ability to think quickly and critically, solve problems effectively and remain composed in a fast-paced trading environment
• Good knowledge of Hong Kong market practices and exchange-related processes is an advantage
• Programming or data-analysis skills are a plus
• CFA, FRM or other relevant professional qualifications will be advantageous
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Putonghua
