What they need

Are you highly organised, confident with data, and keen to build a career in procurement and supply chain? Prolife Foods has an opportunity for a Procurement Co-Ordinator to join our team at our 100 Maui Street site in Hamilton. This role would suit someone who has had some exposure to purchasing, procurement, planning, logistics, administration, or internal business systems and is ready to learn more in a supportive environment.

Prolife Foods is a New Zealand owned leader in the snack category and home to well-known brands including The Carefillery, The Refill Station and Donovans Chocolates. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with detail, systems, suppliers, internal stakeholders, and logistics information that helps keep our procurement function running smoothly.

About the role

As Procurement Co-Ordinator, you will support the administration of purchasing, shipping documentation, container monitoring, customs clearance information, consumables ordering, and supplier follow-up. Accuracy is important in this role, as the data entered and maintained in our systems directly supports planning, logistics, and import activity across New Zealand and Australia. We are looking for a 6-month fixed term coordinator that can assist with our peak period.

What you’ll be doing

  • Maintaining accurate procurement, shipping, ETA, and supplier information in internal systems.
  • Supporting shipping documentation, customs clearance administration, container tracking, and delivery coordination.
  • Ordering consumables from local suppliers and following up outstanding orders or backorders.
  • Working with planning, logistics, warehouse, QA, NPD, and procurement teams to keep information current.
  • Assisting with procurement documentation, supplier information, certificates, specifications, and scheduled tender activity.
  • Providing practical administration support to the wider procurement function.
  • You may have previous exposure to purchasing, procurement, planning, logistics, inventory, administration, or supply chain support, but you do not need to be an expert — much of the role can be taught.
  • You are confident using the Microsoft Office suite, with strong Excel skills and the ability to work accurately with spreadsheets and data.
  • You have excellent attention to detail and understand that accurate information can have a real impact on logistics, imports, and business decisions.
  • You are comfortable learning and using databases, ERP systems, planning systems, logistics systems, or other internal business platforms.
  • You are organised, reliable, proactive, and able to follow up information with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • You communicate well and enjoy being part of a team that supports a busy manufacturing and supply chain environment.
  • Support and training from an experienced procurement team.
  • A varied role where your accuracy, follow-up, and systems skills make a meaningful difference.
  • The chance to work for a well-established New Zealand owned food business with recognised brands.
