We are looking to expand our design team and are seeking a Fixture CAD Engineer to support the design and manufacture of electronic test fixtures.

Full training in our products and processes will be provided.

Job Title: Fixture CAD Engineer

Company: Forwessun – Woodend Industrial Estate, L24

Position Details: Permanent, starting immediately

Hours 37.5 Hours per week;

Monday to Thursday – 08:30 to 17:00

Friday – 08:30 to 14:30

Starting Salary: Dependent on experience (Range £26k -£32k Base, Targets, with commissions of £4k additional to base per annum. Overtime paid at 1.33x Weekday, and 1.5x for weekends.)

Job Specification

The role will include:

• Designing and developing test fixtures to meet customer requirements, ensuring designs are practical, accurate and suitable for manufacture, assembly and testing.
• Liaising with customers and internal teams to clarify requirements and resolve technical queries.
• Using HP3070 software, customer PCB data and test engineering information to produce accurate 2D fixture designs in AutoCAD.
• Checking designs and manufactured parts for accuracy, potential clashes and missing features.
• Managing assigned design tasks independently and efficiently, meeting deadlines and communicating potential delays.
• Creating and maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring changes are documented.
• Supporting production teams with technical queries, troubleshooting and design
• improvements.

Key Skills and Experience

• AutoCAD experience is essential
• SolidWorks experience is desirable
• Good mechanical understanding and ability to interpret engineering drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Basic understanding of electronics and PCBs is desirable

Pay: £26,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
