About the roleWe are currently seeking casual Flashbutt Offsiders to join our rail team for shutdowns and project-based work throughout the Pilbara. This is a hands-on role supporting Flashbutt Welding operations, including rail preparation, grinding and general assistance with welding activities.

Skills & experience

• Previous experience working as a Flashbutt Offsider in the Pillbara is essential
• Previous experience completing web grinds, SAX grinds and final grinds
• Previous rail construction, maintenance or welding experience
• Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure, highly regarded
• Full C Class Driving Licence or higher with no restrictions
• Able to pass Rail medical and ongoing D&A screens

Duties & responsibilities

• Assist Flashbutt Welders with the setup and completion of rail welding activities
• Prepare rail prior to Flashbutt Welding operations
• Complete web grinds, SAX grinds and final grinds
• Assist with the setup, movement and operation of Flashbutt Welding equipment
• Operate grinders, hand tools and other rail-specific equipment
• Support the welding crew with general labouring and track duties
• Inspect completed grinding and finishing work to ensure required standards are achieved
• Maintain tools and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition
