Job Title: Flatbed Tow Truck Operator

Position Summary:
The Flatbed Tow Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating a flatbed tow truck to transport vehicles from one location to another. This includes responding to service calls, roadside assistance requests, accident recovery, and vehicle relocation. The operator must maintain professionalism, provide excellent customer service, and follow all safety, legal, and company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a flatbed tow truck to transport disabled, damaged, or illegally parked vehicles.
• Load and secure vehicles using proper tie-down and safety techniques.
• Respond promptly to dispatch calls for towing, recovery, or roadside assistance.
• Provide basic roadside services such as tire changes, jump starts, fuel delivery, or lockout assistance.
• Ensure proper documentation of all tows, service calls, and vehicle conditions.
• Maintain communication with dispatch regarding job status and location.
• Inspect and maintain the tow truck, ensuring it is clean, fueled, and in good working condition.
• Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety procedures.
• Interact with customers, law enforcement, and others.
• Handle cash or credit card payments when required.
• Complete any required incident or accident reports.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
• Prior tow truck or commercial driving experience preferred, but training may be provided.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics is a plus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.

Work Environment:

• Primarily outdoors and on the road.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions, traffic hazards, and emergency situations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
