Fleet Diesel Mechanic

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This role involves maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of passenger transportation vehicles, including coaches, shuttle buses, school buses, and sprinters. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Cummins engines and be capable of ensuring our fleet operates safely and efficiently. This position offers an opportunity to work with a variety of high-quality vehicles, including Bluebird and Thomas school buses, as well as MCI, Temsa, and Irizar coaches.

Duties

• Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel-powered passenger vehicles.
• Specialize in working with Cummins engines across different vehicle types.
• Maintain and repair Bluebird and Thomas school buses, ensuring safety standards are met.
• Service and repair MCI, Temsa, and Irizar coaches used for passenger transportation.
• Conduct troubleshooting to identify mechanical issues quickly and accurately.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed on each vehicle.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist in the ordering of parts and supplies needed for repairs and maintenance.

Experience

• Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably within a fleet maintenance environment involving passenger transportation vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of Cummins engines is required.
• Familiarity with Bluebird and Thomas school buses, as well as MCI, Temsa, and Irizar coach models.
• Ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues efficiently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Relevant certifications or technical training in diesel engine repair is preferred.

Pay: $30.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
