Fleet Dispatch Manager

Transfreight Limited is looking for an experienced Fleet Dispatch Manager to oversee our daily transport operations and keep our fleet running efficiently.

Established in 1989, Transfreight provides premium freight and transport solutions across the North Island, built on reliability, strong customer relationships and exceptional service.

This is a hands on role for someone with proven transport industry experience who can take charge of dispatch, lead drivers and keep operations running smoothly in a fast paced environment.

About the Role

You will be responsible for coordinating our fleet and drivers, planning freight movements and ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and on time.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing daily dispatch, driver allocation and vehicle scheduling.
• Planning metro, urgent, overnight and linehaul freight movements as required.
• Maximising fleet utilisation and ensuring vehicles are allocated effectively.
• Monitoring deliveries and managing delays, breakdowns and changing priorities.
• Communicating with drivers, customers and internal teams to resolve operational issues.
• Ensuring compliance with transport regulations, health and safety requirements and company procedures.
• Identifying opportunities to improve productivity, service delivery and dispatch processes.
• Providing clear direction and support to the driving team.

About You

Transport industry knowledge and experience are essential. We are looking for someone who understands the demands of freight operations and has the practical experience to make confident decisions and manage a busy dispatch environment.

You will bring:

• Proven experience in transport dispatch, fleet management or transport operations.
• A strong understanding of freight movements, vehicle capacities, scheduling and driver allocation.
• Excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills.
• The ability to prioritise workloads and think on your feet under pressure.
• Confidence using computers and transport management or dispatch systems.
• A proactive, hands on approach with a strong focus on safety, customer service and accountability.
