Role Overview

Based from our Bellshill branch, the Fleet Inspector will be responsible for carrying out tyre inspections across customer fleets, supporting our Bellshill, Brechin and Dumfries locations. The role requires a practical, organised and safety-focused individual who can work independently, assess tyre condition accurately and provide clear recommendations to customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out regular inspections of all tyres on customer fleets, checking for wear, damage, correct fitment and overall condition.
• Accurately record detailed information on tyre condition, performance and any recommended actions to support effective fleet management.
• Assess tyre life expectancy and advise on appropriate actions, including repairs, replacements, pressure adjustments or other remedial work.
• Liaise with fleet managers, drivers and service providers to ensure tyre-related actions are completed efficiently and to the required standard.
• Confirm that all tyres meet relevant legal and safety standards.
• Provide clear written and verbal reports to management and other stakeholders on tyre performance, inspection findings and policy recommendations.
• Represent Soltyre professionally when visiting customer sites and working with fleet contacts.
• Manage workload effectively across the supported locations, ensuring inspections and follow-up actions are completed on time.

Person Specification

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in tyre fitting, with car, truck or agricultural tyre experience being advantageous.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to work weekends as required.
• Strong understanding of tyre technology, tyre safety and vehicle mechanics.
• Ability to organise, plan and prioritise work across multiple locations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy when carrying out inspections and recording information.
• Ability to assess situations and recommend practical, effective solutions for tyre-related issues.
• A positive, can-do attitude, strong work ethic and commitment to working safely.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience working with commercial fleet customers.
• Knowledge of tyre inspection reporting processes and fleet maintenance requirements.
• Confidence working independently and making informed recommendations on-site.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time position based on a 40-hour working week. Weekend working will be required, and overtime opportunities may be available depending on business needs.
